Project Manager

The Project Manager supports CultureLab’s work with museums, heritage sites, and cultural institutions across Indonesia and beyond. This role guides projects from planning to delivery and makes sure each step follows CultureLab’s critical way of working.

The work often involves research-based programs, exhibitions, and activities that need careful coordination. The Project Manager should be able to think clearly, organise complex tasks, and work with different teams and partners.

This is a part-time position, with working hours and workload adjusted according to ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full workflow of CultureLab projects, from planning to completion.
  • Organise project ideas into structured tasks, oversee team progress, and communicate with clarity and respect to ensure the project stays on schedule and is completed.
  • Plan, develop, and manage project budgets, including timelines, workflows, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain clear communication across all teams involved in each project.
  • Liaise with clients and partners, including museums, heritage sites, collaborators, and third-party vendors.
  • Prepare reports and project documentation with accuracy and consistency.
  • Work closely with the Director to support strategic planning and cross-program alignment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of proven project management experience in the arts, culture or related sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
  • Experience in exhibition management.
  • Experience in working within a diversified and international environment.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative in moving projects forward and complete it without constant supervision.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clear understanding of how all parts connect within the full project.Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Indonesian and English.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to respond calmly and clearly when challenges appear.
  • Able to work well under pressure, especially when managing tight timelines and multiple responsibilities.
